From Nic Anderson, General Manager at AM980 The Mission:

Dear Twin Cities Community,

It’s with a heavy heart that I announce that Paul Ridgeway, host of AM 980 The Mission’s On The Way w/ Ridgeway left this earth on Saturday morning (May 13) to go home and be with our Lord. What you heard on the radio was exactly the same Paul outside of radio. He was always finding a way to share the gospel with someone, he always had a story to share with you, and he adored his family. Paul took his role on Christian radio with the utmost care and respect for God’s word. He made it a personal mission to share Jesus in a winsome way and we know he changed many hearts and lives. Paul and I would often talk about the importance of Christian radio, though we never knew exactly who was listening, we always knew there was a reason why they were listening. We are forever blessed to have known him and worked alongside of him.

I talked to Paul the day before heading into the hospital for his heart surgery two-weeks ago. He shared with such JOY in his voice how he was sharing the gospel up and down the hallways of the hospital, handing out over 80 books written by a close friend called, “What Must I Do To Be Saved”. He literally was sharing Jesus with his roommates, his entire care team, visitors, etc. This was “The Ridge” and we are forever blessed to have had him in our lives.

On behalf of our Salem Media Group-Twin Cities team, I ask for prayers for his wife Roz, his son Paul Jr., daughter-in-law Christina, and two granddaughters, Sophia & Isabelle, and his daughter Christina Michelle. May the Lord wrap His arms around this family and give them peace in the weeks and months ahead.

I encourage you to tune into a special On The Way w/Ridgeway this afternoon (Monday, May 15, 2017) from 4pm-6pm as we honor and celebrate the life of Paul Ridgeway.

Blessings to you!
